Over the past few years we have welcomed many small to medium dogs to our acre in Te Puna, where they have enjoyed play and love with our own small dogs. Our property is fully fenced, and the dogs sleep inside. They enjoy our home as if it was their home and get plenty of exercise in our large grass area. Snuggles on the couch are a certainty if wanted. We are always on the lookout for new fur friends to have fun or to sit quietly with and share our love. We offer extra care and respect to our older fur friends and are happy to manage medication or special cares.

4 Reviews on “Merrhis Majurey”
My human Mum was asked to write a review for Merrhis about her dogs home but I thought that I would write it, after all who better than an actual guest to do a review?
My name is Rupert and I’m an adorable dog with better looks than Hairy Maclary and more brains than Hercules Morse, so I know what I’m writing about.
My vacations at the home of Merrhis are fantastic, me and my mates there have the run of the house and a massive garden, that is unfortunately very well fenced so that puts an end to us, my gang, attacking the hens who live on the other side. It doesn’t stop us stealthily patrolling the fence line to keep an eye on the enemy though!
Me and the gang have Merrhis wrapped around our little paws, we let her play ball with us but we are kind to her and let her be the ball thrower whilst we are the fielders. When we have had enough of being the fielders we let her be the fielder!
Our food is always fantastic as we take it from our home, so no complaints to be made about the cook.
Our sleeping quarters are brilliantly positioned right next to the wood burner in the lounge. If we don’t like that position the sofa is always available and occasionally if we are very, very quiet we sneak upstairs and attempt to get on the humans bed! This normally results in a bit of a grumble by all involved as we make our escape back downstairs.
The garden is a great place for hide and seek games, plenty of low bushes to hide under. I love this game, especially at bed time! Mr Majurey has been known to come hunting for me and frequently carries me back to inside the house. Mr Majurey is a lovely bloke who is great at cuddles, especially when he’s very comfortable on the sofa.
All the other inmates that I have met at the Majurey Hotel are of the friendly variety, some talk lots, some attempt to steal your food and some snore like troopers but we all get along very well. One visit I fell in love with two stunning cockervoodles…not to sure that my advances were welcome but a dog can dream!
Apparently photos are taken on a regular basis by the said Miss M and sent with a report of our activities and behaviour to our Humans! Whatever happened to ‘’what happens on holiday stays on holiday”?
As a holiday adventure for us dogs, you can’t do better than staying with the lovely Merrhis, she loves us as a family member, treats you like a king, sneaks treats when we miss home and is Top Dog to all of us.
Best dog slobbers.
Rupert.
To whom it may concern,
Jasper and Pepper have stayed with Merrhis at her lovely farmlet on several occasions. One stay was for 2 weeks. On arriving for the second visit they couldn’t wait to get out of the car. One of our dogs is diabetic and blind. Merrhis went the extra mile to settle her in and acclimatise her to unfamiliar surroundings. She also had no problem administering Pepper’s insulin and feeding her a special diet. The premises are clean and secure. You can definitely sense the love as soon as you arrive at the front door. We know Jasper and Pepper had lots of cuddles. Jasper and Pepper strongly recommend this doggie motel to all their furry friends.
Kind Regards,
Derek and Annette Lloyd
To Whom It May Concern,
I am delighted to provide this reference for Merrhis , who has been taking exceptional care of my beloved fur baby, Poppy. Their dedication, kindness, and genuine love for animals have made them an invaluable part of Poppy’s life.
Every time I drop Poppy off, she eagerly jumps into their arms, which is a true testament to the trust and affection she has for them. When I pick her up, she is always happy, well cared for, and completely tuckered out from all the playtime and fun. It gives me such peace of mind knowing that Poppy is not only safe but also enjoying herself to the fullest in their care.
Merrhis consistently goes above and beyond to ensure Poppy is comfortable, entertained, and well looked after. Their reliability, attentiveness, and compassionate approach make them an outstanding pet caregiver. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving person to care for their pet.
Best regards,
Jael and Ruben Carballo

When we moved to Omokoroa a year ago, we
needed to find someone who could look after our
Bellaboo, often at short notice, on different days
& sometimes overnight & weekends. Our girl is a
rescue with some quirks & really needs to be with
a surrogate Mum & siblings when she’s away from
home. She’s had bad experiences at franchise
doggy day care!
Merrhis has been a god-send. She cares for Bella
like her own, as she does all the dogs who go to
her. It’s a wonderful home based place with
plenty of outdoor space for fun & comfy beds for
sleeping.
Bella adores going to daycare now & isn’t
impressed when she has to come home.
Merrhis takes the best care of all the dogs & is
totally honest & upfront about any issues we need
to address (Bella, I’m talking about the barking!)
and then supports us by having the same rules.
We are so thrilled to trust our girl with the best
that we are happily leaving her for 8 weeks later this year.
You guys rock!
